Job summary

City of Memphis, TN is seeking an Accountant II to manage accounting and financial reporting for assigned funds. You will reconcile ledgers, prepare essential financial statements, and support audits with external auditors.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and five years of experience; CMFO certification must be obtained within 24 months. CPA or MBA and Oracle Financials experience are preferred. Office-based position in Memphis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field and five (5) years experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Must obtain CMFO certification within 24 months of date of hire and maintain as a condition of continued employment in the Accountant II tier.
• CPA or MBA preferred. Governmental or non-profit accounting experience preferred. Oracle Financials experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all accounting and financial reporting (internal and external) related to assigned funds.
• Prepare schedules for ACFR and SAR and assist external auditors with annual audits.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare financial statements and supporting documents, and ensure GAAP compliance.
