Job summary

Westlake Royal Building Products Roofing & Stone Division is seeking a self-motivated Accountant II to oversee accounting activities for a manufacturing plant, including closing, reporting, and analysis. You will support budgets, forecasts, and cross-plant coordination with Operations to ensure accurate financial recording and informed decision-making.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting and about 3+ years in cost/industrial accounting, with SAP/ERP and strong Excel skills.

• Perform accounting and financial activities related to monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Execute AR and AP functions, including customer invoicing and vendor invoice processing.
• Prepare schedules and analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
• Assist in monthly forecasts and annual operating budgets.
• Coordinate accounting across plants, locations, and departments.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure timely, accurate transactions.
• Partner with Operations to ensure proper financial recording.
• Prepare analyses and reports to support business decisions.
• Participate in continuous improvement of accounting processes and efficiency.
• Document processes and update desk procedures.

SUMMARY

Westlake Royal Building Products Roofing & Stone Division is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, and dynamic Accountant II. This position is responsible for the accounting activities of an assigned Roofing & Stone manufacturing plant, including recording, analysing, reporting, and evaluating financial and operational information. The role provides timely and accurate financial information and analysis to management to support operational and business objectives.

ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform accounting and financial activities related to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Perform Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, including customer invoicing, vendor invoice processing.
• Prepare supporting schedules and analyses for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual operating budgets.
• Coordinate accounting activities across manufacturing plants, locations, and departments.
• Maintain and support compliance with internal controls within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Partner with Operations to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Prepare financial analyses and management reports to support business decision-making.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
• Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation and desk procedures.
• Perform other duties and ad hoc analyses as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Approximately 3+ years of cost or industrial accounting experience preferred.
• SAP and ERP experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
