Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Revenue Accountant to support the monthly close and consolidation process. You will prepare journal entries, analyze revenue-related accounts, and assist with footnotes and 10Q/K reporting.

The role involves analyzing income statements and balance sheets, preparing schedules, and contributing to SOX controls. Collaboration with field locations and audit teams is required.

Qualifications

• Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts, analyzes, and resolves discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries during month end close process.
• Analyze Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts during monthly exception review process.
• Provide assistance in preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly footnotes and backlog during 10Q/K reporting.
• Produce and analyze error free internal management reports on a monthly basis.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly Sox controls; ensures timely completion with accuracy.
• Review cemetery sales contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare cost versus revenue analysis to analyze relationships and trends relating to products.
• Perform accounting research related to revenue recognition, account receivable and reserve as necessary.
• Assist the Supervisor and Manager with special projects as necessary.
