Nevada Irrigation District is seeking an Accountant I/II under the Controller to review general ledger accounts, reconcile discrepancies, and assist in preparing financial reports and statements. The role provides back-up support for payroll, accounts payable and receivable, supports auditors, and applies GAAP principles using the district's internal accounting system.
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, with 3–8 years of professional experience
Under direct supervision of the Controller, reviews and reconciles assigned general ledger accounts and resolves discrepancies. Participates in preparing and analyzing financial reports and statements. Provides information/assistance to external auditors and consultants. Supports other Finance staff members with providing back-up for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Utilizes internal accounting/financial system while understanding the principles and practices of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance or a related field.
