Job summary

PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. in Katy, Texas is seeking an Accountant to provide trusted financial guidance, maintain strong controls and support project results. The role involves clerical and data entry tasks, accounts payable and receivable processing, and preparing ad hoc reports for project teams.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and a Bachelor's degree is preferred; some accounting experience is helpful. The company offers employee ownership and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
• Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
• Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
• Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting.
• Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
• Basic understanding of lien rights.
• Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and data entry support to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting.
• Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises.
• Assembles information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
• Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment.
• Prepares bank deposits and cash receipt entries.
