Job summary

Rehmann is seeking an Accountant to join Client Accounting & Advisory Solutions in Michigan. The role focuses on accounting, payroll, tax support, and client advisory services, providing financial reporting, journal entries, and reconciliations for diverse clients.

You will collaborate with business owners and stakeholders, maintain client accounting systems, and support software implementations while mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax compliance.
• Proficiency with accounting and payroll software applications.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines and client expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including complex transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare compiled financial statements and customized client reports.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules, including depreciation and amortization.
• Review financial information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Assist with year-end accounting activities and financial reporting.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and payment vouchers.
• Research payroll tax requirements and registrations across jurisdictions.
• Respond to payroll tax notices and correspondence from taxing authorities.
• Prepare individual, partnership, S-corporation, and corporate tax returns of moderate complexity.
• Assist with tax planning and tax liability projections.
