THE JOB:
At MGM Resorts International, our finance professionals are essential to maintaining accuracy, integrity, and transparency across our world-class operations. We’re seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial functions specifically tied to our casino and gaming operations. In this role, you'll play a key part in our monthly close process, reconciliations, and reporting efforts — all while ensuring compliance with internal policies and gaming regulations.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Record transactional activity in the general ledger accurately and timely
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with financial statements
Create and post journal entries throughout the month related to casino operations
Perform financial reporting for both internal leadership and external regulatory bodies
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, and gaming-specific regulations (e.g., SOX, AML laws, MICs)
Collaborate with operational teams to ensure casino-related accounts are balanced and posting correctly
Participate in system or process implementations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain a service-oriented mindset while partnering across business units
Meet with onsite stakeholders at our various Las Vegas properties as needed
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
1+ year of relevant accounting or audit experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Familiarity with large financial systems; Oracle ARCS or casino systems a plus
Comfortable working in a high-volume, regulated environment with multiple stakeholders
