Job summary

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related business degree with accounting emphasis.
• At least 3 years progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
• Intercultural competency and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with budget officers to answer questions and research trends.
• Develop and maintain control systems to identify and prevent budget discrepancies.
• Support all accounting management, including billing, vendor payments, and tax forms.
• Assist in preparing reports for management or regulatory bodies, including auditors.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Assist with fixed asset management and evaluation.
• Supervise student workers in Accounting Services.
• Prepare monthly bank and investment reconciliations.
• Maintain Purchasing and Travel policies.
• Prepare and analyze account reconciliations.
• Assist with Purchasing Card system.
• Prepare daily Bookstore transactions and deposits.
• Prepare monthly Sales Tax returns.
• Prepare and review monthly capital budget and project reports.
• Assist with vendor management and 1099 tax reporting.
• Prepare accounts receivable aging reports and monitor collectability.
• Serve as backup for Accounts Payable Coordinator and Accounting Associate.
