Insurance Department of the State of Georgia is seeking an Accountant 3 to perform professional finance and accounting duties. The role includes backing up the payroll liaison for SAO Payroll Shared Services and handling travel reimbursements, invoice processing, and financial reporting.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 2+ years of relevant experience, and be prepared to manage asset and risk controls across the agency while supporting statewide processes.

• Two years of professional accounting experience or two years in Accountant 2 (FIP021) or equivalent.

Responsabilités

Job Description:

Under general supervision, the Accountant 3 performs professional-level finance, accounting, and fiscal control functions. This lead role will also serve as the backup to the agency’s payroll liaison for the State Accounting Office (SAO), Payroll Shared Services.

Submit transmittal for payroll, assist with issues regarding verifying and checking for errors from the State Accounting Office (SAO) Payroll Shared Services including communicating issues regarding employees pay and deductions.

Assist with managing the local admin and accounting functions in the statewide travel reimbursement system (CONCUR).

Process expense reimbursements (Travel).

Process miscellaneous payments, one-time and monthly recurring invoices.

Process purchase orders and requisitions invoices and Ad Hoc payments.

Process banking settlements for expense, ad hoc, and procurement settlements.

Assist with processing local distributions to counties and municipalities for the Premium Tax department.

Assist with preparing, balancing, reconciling, and submitting the annual salary and travel report for approval.

Assist with preparing, balancing, reconciling, and submitting the annual per diem report for the approval.

Assist in managing the agency asset management.

Manage risk management functions for the agency, including reconciling.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting and two (2) years of professional accounting job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Accountant 2 (FIP021) or position equivalent.
