Job summary

Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division is hiring an Accountant 2 to support intermediate accounting duties with concentrations in General Accounting, Risk Management/Employee Benefits, and Budget & Rates. You will compile figures for financial and budget reports and prepare journal entries for the general ledger.

The role includes reconciliation of ledger and budget accounts, TVA reporting, pension computations, and developing more complex procedures for new accounting applications.

Responsibilities

• Compile/verify figures for financial, statistical and budget reports including balance sheets and income statements.
• Prepare journal entries for recording information to the general ledger.
• Reconcile general ledger and budget accounts to detail records; make correcting entries.
• Prepare TVA monthly financial reports and pension/actuary reports; assist with various other financial reports.
• Develop/implement more complex procedures for new accounting/budgeting applications; consult with various areas to solve problems.
• Maintain daily accounting detail information for entries to the general ledger and budget; manage pension payroll data.
• Prepare reports and special studies as required; perform other duties as directed.

Maintaindaily accounting detail information for entry to the general ledger and budget;maintain/control information related to pension payroll. Prepare various reportsand special studies as required.
