Job description

Accountant position in the Accounting Department responsible for daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely recording of company transactions. Supports all aspects of general ledger accounting including analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts. Strong organizational skills, efficiency, and dedication to financial integrity are required. This role contributes to the company’s financial health and success.

Responsibilities
  • Performs all tasks associated with the general ledger, including entering monthly journal entries, executing monthly close of the general ledger, inventory reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and reconciling generalledger related accounts.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and analyzing budget variances.
  • Develop and maintain asset recordkeeping in accordance with accounting rules and regulations.
  • Prepare Sales & Use, Telecommunications and Utility Gross Receipts Tax.
  • Reconcile bank statements and monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Reconcile customer billing from billing software to revenues in accounting software.
  • Collaborate with all departments as needed.
  • Work closely with the company’s CPA firm and consulting firms on projections, certifications, etc.
  • Assist with proper recording and interpretation of intercompany accounting activities.
  • Compile and prepare reports/schedules related to internal and external audits as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of all budgets and forecasts, including related reports and analyses.
  • Collaborate with accounting team members for combined reporting and general ledger maintenance activities.
  • Perform other ad-hoc projects and reporting as assigned by Management.
  • Must complete the RUS Borrowers Accounting Course within the first year.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.

Position may require a 4-10 schedule.
