Job summary

Skookum Creek Tobacco Company seeks a full-charge accountant to manage accounting and financial reporting for a tobacco manufacturing business. The role involves end-to-end accounting duties, cost analysis, and intercompany activities.

The position requires strong data accuracy, experience with MAS90/Sage 100 ERP, and proficiency in Excel. A background in manufacturing accounting and inventory control is preferred. This is a full-time on-site role in Washington.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 5 years accounting experience.
  • Associate degree in accounting or related field with 3+ years progressive work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 1 year progressive work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Handle full charge accounting duties: AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, inventory receipts.
  • Analyze production efficiencies and monitor variances.
  • Track WIP inventory, raw materials consumption, and costing.
  • Process POs, SOs, and inventory transfers.
  • Reconcile general ledger balances and prepare journal entries.

Starting Pay: $31.80 DOQ Reports To: Controller

POSITION SUMMARY

Full charge accounting position for the Skookum Creek Tobacco Company, manufacturing business. Perform accounting and financial reporting functions for the tobacco manufacturing company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Full charge accounting duties such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales orders, payroll, intercompany billings, fixed asset management, inventory receipts
  • Analyze and monitor production efficiencies
  • Track work-in-progress inventory related to raw materials consumption, including inventory costing, receipt of raw materials and manufacturing supplies
  • Process Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, and Inventory Transfers
  • Review and Reconcile general ledger balances
  • Prepare daily and monthly general journal entries
  • Reconcile warehouse inventory on a daily basis
  • Audit inventory and internal control systems
  • Report variances
  • Daily/weekly cash reconciliations
  • Process Vendor Payments and Customer cash receipts
  • Reconcile Check Registers, purchases, vendor statements and other account details
  • Works closely with Controller in reporting and monitoring accounting system and financial activities
  • Prepares month end reconciliations of assets, liabilities, and expenditures to assist in monthly financial statement preparation.
  • Prepares monthly federal reporting related to tobacco operations
  • Maintains adequate internal controls system.
  • Maintains filing system for all financial transactions and data.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education Required

  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years relevant experience in accounting. OR
  • Associate of Arts Degree in a related field and 3 years progressive work experience. OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting and 1 year progressive work experience.
