Job summary

Zeno Power is seeking an Accountant to support financial operations for our Seattle-based team. You will oversee payables/receivables, reconcile ledger items, and produce key financial statements.

Collaboration with purchasing, payroll, and audit teams ensures accuracy and compliance. The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance and 3+ years of experience, with strong Excel skills and knowledge of GAAP.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and current tax legislation.
  • Ability to translate financial data for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable and reconcile statements.
  • Support purchasing functions including PO processing and approvals.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits.
  • Analyze financial performance to forecast trends and costs.

Accountant

Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Accountant to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies.

In this role you will:

  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, process invoices, and reconcile bank statements against the general ledger
  • Support company purchasing functions including Purchase Order processing and Requisition approvals
  • Prepare and maintain key financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Conduct internal audits to verify data accuracy and rectify discrepancies; assist with external audits
  • Analyze past financial performance to develop budgets, forecast future trends, and suggest cost-reduction strategies
  • Support key payroll functions, including payroll processing, expense reimbursements, and payroll tax reconciliations
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills to spot discrepancies, assess financial risks, and analyze business trends
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables) and accounting platforms like QuickBooks or NetSuite
  • Deep understanding of accounting standards (like GAAP) and current tax legislation
  • Translates complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or applicant
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Job Functions
  • Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays
  • Travel: Travel is not required, <5%
  • Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)
  • Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 15 pounds
  • Repetitive work: Prolonged
  • Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work
  • Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day
Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary band for this position is $75,000-$90,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
