Job summary

Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, seeks an Accountant to assist with monthly and quarterly close, journal entries, reconciliations, and data integrity. You will review supplier onboarding, analyze variances, strengthen internal controls for SOX, and collaborate with Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, and Finance to drive process improvements.

• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand problems quickly and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent technical accounting skills with a detailed understanding of current US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts including cash, credit cards, travel expenses, and outside contractors.
• Review supplier onboarding documents to ensure completeness and accuracy of data entered into the system.
• Perform monthly variance analysis and develop a strong understanding of financial data in the context of broader business operations.
• Maintain documentation and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls to align with SOX requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners such as Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, and Finance to establish best practices and drive continuous process improvement.
• Participate in process improvement projects to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of close-related processes.

What You’ll Do:

What You Need:

• 2+ years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Strong Excel skills
• Detail oriented and highly organized and high degree of initiative
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills needed to develop collaborative working relationships with other departments
• Ability to understand problems quickly and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent technical accounting skills with a detailed understanding of current US GAAP

Bonus Qualifications:

• Big 4 and/or Public Company experience is a plus
• ERP (SAP or Oracle) systems experience is a plus
• CPA is a plus
• Experience with Blackline accounts reconciliation software
• Experience with system implementations and UAT testing
