Job summary

Clark Davis Associates is seeking a Public Accountant ready to pivot into corporate accounting with a leading manufacturing company in Morris County, NJ. This hybrid role offers a balanced schedule and competitive pay and benefits, with no 70-90 hour weeks.

Open to Staff (1-3 years) or Senior (3-5 years) accountants who can handle journal entries, closes, GAAP reporting, and SOX compliance in a growing environment. CPA or MBA a plus, Bachelor's in Accounting required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; MBA or CPA a plus.
• 2–4 years public accounting experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
• Up-to-date with current GAAP accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closes.
• Create financial reports from trial balance.
• Prepare and provide account analysis of general ledger accounts.
• Assist in preparing schedules for public company filings (10-Q and 10-K).
• Assist with the coordination of the annual audit.
• Prepare monthly general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
• Ensure SOX compliance is met.
• Perform ad-hoc research and financial analysis for management.
