You will:
- You will be responsible for the monthly accounting and financial reporting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and account trend/variance analysis of various Church ministries and integrated auxiliaries
- You will review/analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy
- You will research and respond to questions related to review
- You will analyze/review and recognize income/expenses from Balance Sheet schedules
- You will reconcile bank accounts to the general ledger monthly
- You will assist with annual financial statement audits; prepare required audit schedules, provide account information, and answer auditors' questions
- You will act as backup for the Accounting Specialist to record weekly tithe and offerings in Ministry Platform and PushPay
- You will act as backup for the Accounting Specialist to distribute, reconcile, and account for the petty cash fund and oversee the annual petty cash fund reconciliation required for the audit
- You will be trained in areas of accounting department including, but not limited to financial reporting, Contributions reporting, A/R recording, A/P processing
- You will research and respond to vendor inquiries and maintain A/P Vendor files including W-9 files, and ACH verification
- You will participate in annual 1099 processing
- You will maintain updated policy and procedures manual for process as related to Accountant role
- You will assist in special projects requested by the CFO or Controller
You have:
- BS in Accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft software: Word and Excel, Sage Intacct is a plus
- Gift of administration and work well in a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, and volunteers
- Excellent organizational skills with an appreciation for details
- Excellent planning and follow through ability
- Ability to be flexible and demonstrate excellent time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to complete projects on time and follow-through efficiently
- Works well with people and exhibit professional demeanor and work area
- Keeps confidential matters confidential
What you are required to know:
- We are an EEO employer

- This is a full-time (40 hours/week) exempt position
- You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events, emergencies, or monthly/annual closing
