Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with solid GAAP knowledge.
  • At least 2 years of accounting experience in a professional setting.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency and general accounting software knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts for multiple entities.
  • Maintain cash balances, manage payments, and forecast cash flow.
  • Support month-, quarter-, and year-end closing and prepare financial statements and schedules.
  • Provide schedules and analytical information for management and other departments.
  • Identify process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

What You’ll Actually Do
  • Manage the reconciliation of general ledger and bank accounts, ensuring accuracy across various entities.
  • Maintain cash balances, oversee payment activity, and forecast cash flow, coordinating with associates for timely payment and high-quality accounting software input.
  • Support associates with month-, quarter-, and year-end closing tasks, including assisting in the preparation of comprehensive financial statements and related schedules.
  • Provide detailed schedules and analytical information to management and other departments for various finance and accounting projects.
  • Analyze current accounting processes and prepare well-researched recommendations to management for process improvement and strengthening internal control systems.
The Must-Haves
  • Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in financial reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of work experience in an accounting role within a professional setting, or relevant internship experience, coupled with strong technical skills including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as general accounting software knowledge.
  • Skills: Financial Reporting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Comprehensive Accounting, Accounts Payable Management, and Bank & General Ledger Reconciliation.
  • Bonus: Practical experience utilizing specific accounting platforms such as Microsoft Business Central, Solver, and SharePoint.
