Job summary

Exemplar Luxury Group, a prominent luxury retailer, is seeking an Accountant to strengthen financial processes and provide timely analysis. You will contribute to month-end close, audits, and internal reporting, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance across the organization.

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years of accounting experience, a solid grasp of US GAAP, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • 2–4 years accounting experience in public accounting or industry.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial literacy.
  • Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes for accurate reporting.
  • Prepare financial schedules, variance analyses, and internal reports with high accuracy.
  • Assist budgeting and forecasting to support financial planning and tracking against targets.

You Will Be

As an Accountant, you play a key role in supporting the company’s financial processes by preparing timely and accurate analysis and reconciliation of financial data, including in support of month-end close processes, internal and external reporting, and ad hoc requests from stakeholders. You contribute to daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You assist in executing efficient month-end and year-end close processes to ensure deadlines are met, financial data is reliable, and variances to budgets/forecasts/prior periods are analyzed, explained and resolved, as needed. In this role, you also support audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests. Additionally, you help produce high-quality financial reports and analysis. Your work provides valuable insights that support informed business decisions and overall financial health.

What You Will Do
  • Perform and review general ledger activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting aligned with close deadlines
  • Prepare financial schedules, variance analyses, and internal management reports with a focus on data accuracy and insight quality
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning and performance tracking against targets
  • Create schedules and support internal reporting packages for finance and accounting leadership, ensuring accuracy, clarity and adherence to timelines
  • Assist in the preparation of data used in quarterly and annual financial reporting, including footnote or support schedule preparation, performing compliance ratio calculations, or other items as needed
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support audit readiness and risk mitigation
  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely documentation and clear explanations to meet audit deadlines and requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and identify process improvement opportunities, including automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
What You Will Bring
Required Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry (level to be determined based on experience)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accounting principles, internal controls, and strong financial literacy
  • Experience with general ledger and other financial systems and preparation of account reconciliations and analysis
  • OracleEPM/Hyperion or similar financial data tool experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications (nice To Haves)
  • Certification: Active CPA license or CPA candidacy
  • Experience: Background in Big 4/public accounting or specific industries (e.g., retail, tech, manufacturing)
  • Technical Tools: Experience with tools like Oracle EPM, Hyperion, or advanced Excel skills
  • Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with SOX compliance or other regulatory frameworks
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication, and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Process Improvement: Exposure to automation or process optimization initiatives

Salary Range $72,000 - $89,000*

Compensation for this role varies by geographic location. The listed range reflects multiple markets, including higher-cost areas. Actual starting pay will be determined based on work location, experience, and other job-related factors.
