HydroGraph, headquartered in Austin, TX, seeks an Accountant to prepare financial reports tracking assets, liabilities, and profits. You will maintain the general ledger, handle cost accounting, and support audits and budgets as the company scales.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in accounting or finance and 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with manufacturing exposure. This full-time position offers growth within HydroGraph’s rapidly expanding business units.

Responsibilities

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
• Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger and codes invoices; sets up new accounts.
• Reconciles vendor accounts, closes monthly books, and resolves invoice issues.
• Reconciles bank and customer accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
• Generates estimates, sales orders, and invoices; verifies payments.
• Gathers data for annual audits and coordinates with auditors.
• Files required tax forms and coordinates with software vendors for updates.
• Assists with budgets and prepares monthly reports and ad hoc queries.

Job Summary

The Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
• Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
• Maintains the general ledger
• Codes & inputs invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles vendor accounts, and closes the monthly books
• Works with vendors to resolve issues with invoices, etc.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
• Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections
• Create estimates, sales orders and invoices
• Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
• Verifies receipt of sales invoice payments, follows up with customers regarding payment issues
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit
• Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
• As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
• Assists with budgets and prepares monthly custom reports, ad hoc reports and responds to queries from within the organization
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
• Highly proficient with accounting software
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work across multiple departments/business units within the company as well as multiple people
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Proficient with NetSuite

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
• Three to five years of accounting experience required
• Manufacturing experience is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
