Job summary

Octane Lending is seeking a collections specialist to work directly with financially distressed customers in a fast-paced environment. You will evaluate each case, negotiate remedies, and manage the workout plan to protect both the customer and the company.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and the ability to handle confidential information. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 3+ years in Financial Services.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with financially distressed customers.
• Evaluate the customer’s situation against our possible remedies.
• Negotiate with customer to keep loan active and prevent loss for the company and for the customer.
• Process and follow up on the workout remedy plan until completed, which may possibly include the entire reinstatement process of repossessed collateral or an extension.
• Meet monthly productivity and quality goals.
• Comply with all federal and state specific laws that regulate collections and servicing activities.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with financially distressed customers.
• Evaluate the customer’s situation against our possible remedies.
• Negotiate with customer to keep loan active and prevent loss for the company and for the customer.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required (some college coursework a plus) followed by a minimum of three years of Financial Services experience, ideally in auto finance or an installment loan portfolio. Collection experience is a plus.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel /Google Suite.
• Able to master use of web-based system of record (LoanPro) – Training Provided.
• Strong communication skills both verbally and written as roles are a combination phone and communicating through chat and email. Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus
• Excellent "people" skills and a strong customer service attitude.
• Demonstrates problem solving ability.
• Ability to express empathy and unconditional positive regard as you will be dealing with distressed consumers.
• Ability to learn new processes.
• Able to work a flexible schedule which may include some overtime, some nights, weekends, and holidays; Honest with strong work ethic, unscheduled absences are rare, always punctual.
