Job Purpose:

With direction from the Retirement Department Manager, this positionservesas a resource to retirement plan sponsors (employers) and financial advisorsfor compliance,nondiscrimination testing,plan design, and governmental reporting.This person is primarilyresponsiblefor theday-to-dayadministrationofdesignated retirement plansand willutilizea high degreeof attention to detail, technicalproficiency, and customer service toensurecompliance withRetirement plan laws, regulations, anddeadlines. This positionmayalso work closely withCompliance Manager,Plan Administration Associate,Plan Administration3(16) Specialists,andPlan Data Coordinators tosolve employer challenges through trusted relationships, employee benefitsexpertise, and quality personalized service.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Providetimely, exceptional customer service, including problem solving and issue resolution;
  • Provide effective verbal and written communications in a clear,conciseand informative manner;
  • Complete /r review data entry of census information to ensure accuracy;
  • Verifying deferral/match deposits against client provided census information;
  • Complet e t rust a ccaccounting on th e applicable quarterly, semi-annual, annual basis;
  • Calculat e/allocat e e mployer c ontributions when applicable (i.e. profit sharingand / or match);
  • Checking data entry of contribution splits to ensure accuracy;
  • Allocat e expenses /earnings//losses on pooledandsegregated accounts;
  • Importing downloads from investment providers as needed on daily valuation clients;
  • Completing a nnual c complianceand nondiscrimination testingincluding communication of results to the plan sponsor andfacilitating applicable correctionsbytheappropriate IRSdeadlines;
  • Prepare accountallocation / valuation report;
  • Ensuring participant vesting information is updated accurately each plan year;
  • Prepar e, Deliver, and File applicable annualgovernment filings such asForm 5500, 8955-SSA, and 5330;
  • Prepar eSummary Annual Report (SAR);
  • Coordination of information with plan auditor (if applicable);
  • Reviewand verifyaccuracy ofdistribution forms prepared byPlan AdministrationAssociate;
  • Coordinate and review3(16) co-fiduciary services provided byPlan Administration 3(16) Specialist;
  • Ensure participant notices are accurately produced and delivered asdesignatedin service agreements;
  • Routineannualplan design consulting with client;
  • Facilitateplan design changes requiring amendments toplandocumentwithCompliance Manager;
  • Any otherassigned tasksgiven by aSupervisor.

Delivery/Timing:

  • Ensure the timeliness of meeting all deadlines required by the IRS, DOL, legislation and regulations;
  • Ensure the timeliness of client communication and deliverables as specified in the handbook or as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3+ years ERISA experience in the retirement industry is preferred
  • Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills;
  • Strong mathematical aptitude;

  • Ability to multi-task;
