Job summary

Veloxis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks an Account Manager to drive and expand sales within the assigned territory. You will create and execute strategic plans to maximize net sales of products, align with leadership, and follow company guidelines.

You will build deep knowledge of the market, educate institutional audiences, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet ambitious sales targets while traveling domestically up to 70% and maintaining compliant practices.

Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in business, scientific, or related discipline.
  • 7–10 years’ experience in specialty pharmaceutical sales in complex institutions.
  • Experience in HSV, IC, HSCT, SOT or hematologic malignancies.
  • Ability to lead cross-functionally without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel 60–70% domestically and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and strengthens knowledge of territory, market dynamics, products, competitors.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with institutional audience, including Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Educates institutional targets using approved resources and materials.
  • Works to increase access and adoption at the institutional level and treatement pathway integration.
  • Maintains records of sales activities, calls, and leads; submits reports per company policy.
  • Participates in local/regional events, conferences, and company meetings.
  • Collaborates with Sales Operations, Field Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Market Access.
  • Achieves sales goals and adheres to ethics, compliance, and promotional regulations.
  • Organizes territory events such as speaker programs and lunch-and-learn sessions.
  • Engages in special projects and shares market intelligence to optimize brand strategy.
  • Manages expenses within the assigned budget.

Job description

The Account Manager contributes to the Company’s success by developing, maintaining, and expanding sales within the assigned territory. The incumbent creates and executes a strategic business plan to maximize net sales of assigned products in alignment with commercial leadership and all Company guidelines, policies, and objectives.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Creates a business plan to drive awareness, maximize territory sales and generate revenue.
  • Develops, implements, and continuously builds knowledge of territory, market dynamics, products, competitors, and disease states.
  • Develops and maintains superior relationships within institutional target audience, including Key Opinion Leaders
  • Effectively educates institutional target audience using Company approved resources, sales materials, and promotional initiatives as identified by sales leadership.
  • Works to increase access and adoption at the institutional level (P&T committee understanding, protocol development support, treatment pathway integration, inpatient-to-outpatient care transition)
  • Maintains accurate records of all sales activities, including sales calls, presentations, targets/leads database, and follow-up activities.
  • Regularly participates in local and regional professional events, industry conferences, annual meetings, and other Company-wide meetings.
  • Successfully collaborates with cross-functional team members, including Sales Operations, Field Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Market Access.
  • Achieves sales goals, conducts day-to-day activities including submitting timely and accurate reports (expenses, business plans, etc.) while adhering to ethical sales practices, compliance guidelines, and promotional regulations.
  • Organizes and executes territory-specific events, such as speaker bureau presentations, lunch-and-learn programs, etc.
  • Participates in special projects or sales-related activities, as deemed necessary.
  • Shares market intelligence to optimize brand strategy and execution.
  • Works within assigned expense budget by exercising sound judgment regarding general operating, travel, and promotional expenditures.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • B.S. / B.A. in business, scientific, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years’ experience in specialty pharmaceutical sales in complex institutions (academic medical centers, HSCT programs, transplant centers, regional referral hospitals, etc.)
  • Experience in refractory HSV, IC, HSCT, SOT or hematologic malignancies required; experience in multiple disease areas strongly preferred.
  • Work and lead cross functionally without having authority to achieve account goals/objectives
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitor knowledge; recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Consistently displays positive attitude through challenges and change.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Meets all requirements for health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing to gain entry into facilities and organizations that are in the assigned territory.
  • A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company standards.
  • Travel Requirements: 60%-70% domestic. Overnight travel is required in this role.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $190,000 – $210,000 annually. This range represents a good-faith estimate of what The Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of hire. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for a target bonus and equity compensation as determined by the Company’s compensation committee.
