Account Manager – Custom-Engineered Electrical Assemblies

Are you a technically driven sales professional with experience in engineered components or custom manufacturing? Join a stable, Milwaukee-based company where you’ll manage customer relationships and drive quoting and order execution for complex, made-to-order electrical assemblies.

In this role, you’ll bridge the gap between sales and engineering—supporting customers through quoting, configuration, and project oversight for products such as custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical subassemblies, and other low-voltage interconnect solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Relationship Management

  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with industrial and OEM customers
  • Own the quoting and order process from initial inquiry through delivery
  • Proactively manage account activity, sales pipeline, and project timelines
  • Provide clear, accurate communication between internal teams and external customers

Technical Sales & Quoting Support

  • Review BOMs, customer prints, and specs to generate accurate pricing and technical proposals
  • Create and maintain quotes; collaborate with the estimating team for scalable workflows
  • Consult with engineering to ensure manufacturability, proper material selection, and optimized configurations
  • Help streamline and standardize product options where applicable

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Systems

  • Work within an ISO 9001:2015 certified environment; familiarity with IPC 620 and UL traceability standards a plus
  • Support ERP and quoting system integration, including configuration tools
  • Monitor competitive trends and suggest strategic pricing or product positioning adjustments

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B technical sales or account management within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of custom-manufactured products, especially electrical or electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Proficiency in reviewing technical documentation (BOMs, schematics, mechanical drawings)
  • Familiarity with ERP and quoting tools; Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Primarily inside sales with minimal local travel (1–2 customer visits per month; occasional trade show participation)
