Job summary

REQ, An Agital Company in Washington, DC is seeking an Account Manager for our growing Public Relations team. You will lead client relationships, guide campaigns, and drive account growth.

You will work as a trusted partner, coordinating strategy, media outreach, and executive communications, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to a high‑performance agency culture. This role emphasizes DC-area presence and regional client leadership.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in public relations or communications, ideally within a technology-focused agency.
  • Proven ability to manage accounts and deliver strategic, results-driven communications programs.
  • Strong media relations experience with demonstrated success securing impactful coverage.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, including executive-level communications.
  • Strong knowledge of application of AI in PR & marketing; Ability to develop AI-driven reports, process efficiencies, new service capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of technology, business trends, and integrated communications strategies.

About The Role

REQ is seeking an Account Manager to join our growing Public Relations team.


This role is responsible for managing client relationships, leading execution of strategic communications programs, and contributing to account growth and team development.


You will operate as a trusted client partner, strategic contributor, and team leader, with accountability for both program performance and client satisfaction.


Please note that we are especially seeking candidates located in or around Washington, DC.


What You’ll Do

Client Leadership & Relationships


  • Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact, building strong, trust-based relationships

  • Communicate effectively with senior client stakeholders, including contributing to strategic discussions and presentations

  • Understand client business priorities and provide informed recommendations that align communications efforts to broader goals

  • Lead client meetings, planning sessions, and proactive check-ins


Account Ownership & Project Management


  • Manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, priorities, and deliverables are met

  • Guide clients and internal teams on expectations, workflows, and program execution

Industry Presence & Network Development


  • Build and maintain relationships with media, industry contacts, and prospective clients

  • Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge sharing internally and externally

  • Stay informed on industry trends to enhance client strategy and agency positioning


What You Bring
