Principal Accountabilities (summary)
Reporting directly to the Sales Manager, the Account Manager is responsible for developing new customer relationships and managing oleochemical sales and services of Cremer North America business products.
Position Requirements
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
- B.A. or B.S degree in a Business-related or STEM related discipline or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Kind & Length Of Experience
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience in a marketing or sales position.
- Must reside within the assigned geographic region.
- Territory could be located in the following regions: Northeast / Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Southeast or West.
- Working knowledge of oleo chemical products and chemical services, such as flaking and pastilles.
- Travel for customer visits within the assigned territory 3 – 4 days per week; up to 3-4 weeks per month.
Performance Measures and Standards
- Identify, develop, and grow new opportunities and new customers within assigned sales territory.
- Grow overall sales in the assigned territory.
- Use CRM, sales forecasting, and strategic planning to ensure the sales and profitability of products, lines, or services, and monitor market trends.
- Negotiate prices and terms of sales with new and existing customers.
- Engage with all existing customers in the assigned territory.
- Understand customers and prospect buying centers.
- Participate in industry associations and trade shows.
- Coordinate promotional activities to market products or services.
- Collaborate with colleagues on strategies and marketing information.
- Answer customer inquiries about products, prices, and availability.
- Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications.
- Maintain accurate customer records using automated systems like CRM.
- Prepare sales contracts and assist customers in product selection.
- Ensure coverage in your absence through trained personnel.
- Share customer and product risk information, including SDSs, brochures, specifications, and safety hazards.
- Follow all safety and regulatory guidelines, including management of change (MOC) processes for new products.
Cremer Training Required
- Follow the company’s written training program for this position.
