Account Executive – SAP Academy for Customer Success (Chicago, Hybrid)
Overview
The SAP Academy for Customer Success is a global, three‑year development program that equips early‑career professionals with the product knowledge, customer‑success skills, and sales experience needed for a direct customer‑facing sales role. Participants complete a 10‑month learn‑apply cycle that blends classroom instruction, field training, and hands‑on mentorship. Upon successful completion, graduates transition into regional Account Executive or Solution Sales Executive positions.
Responsibilities
- Complete a 10‑month learn‑apply program, including classroom phases and field phases with your sales team, to build customer‑facing capabilities.
- Engage in multi‑dimensional experiential learning focused on digital transformation, global intelligence, human skills, business and technology acumen, solution/industry knowledge, and strategy/tools/process.
- Drive value across the customer lifecycle through solution adoption and ongoing renewals, fostering account expansion.
- Receive onboarding in your local market with on‑the‑job training and mentoring by a Senior Account Executive, working both behind the scenes and directly with customers.
Preferred Areas of Focus (SSE)
- SAP Finance & Spend Management – knowledge of accounting, procurement, and supplier management.
- SAP SuccessFactors – core HR and payroll, talent management, employee experience management, HR analytics, workforce planning, and sales performance management.
- SAP Supply Chain Management – expertise in supply chain, asset management, manufacturing, logistics, or product and project lifecycle management.
- SAP Customer Experience – e‑commerce, sales, customer service, and marketing processes.
- SAP Business Transformation Management – business process management and automation applications.
- SAP Business Technology Platform & SAP Business Data Cloud – database and data management, analytics, application development and integration, intelligence technologies, AI, Integration, Application, Data, Infrastructure, and Security domains.
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of professional experience in a quota‑carrying sales environment in a technology company or significant exposure to business processes.
- Experience generating opportunities, qualifying leads, and managing sales pipelines across a defined territory with a proven track record of building customer relationships and articulating value propositions.
- A cooperative and productive approach to working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Strong ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing environments, and apply knowledge to deliver results.
- Understanding of AI fundamentals, uses, and ethics, and the ability to identify business problems solvable with AI.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated knowledge of business processes and/or industries.
- Proficiency in English to engage with a global network.
- Curiosity, agility, passion for learning, and resilience to adapt in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Strong problem‑solving, project management, and creative thinking skills; ability to collaborate across teams and communicate clearly.
- Emotional intelligence and cultural awareness that support inclusive teamwork and thoughtful stakeholder engagement.
- Growth orientation in business and emerging technologies, especially AI, with a results‑oriented approach and courage to take initiative.

Compensation Range Transparency
Targeted annual combined range for this position is 91,600 – 205,700. Actual offer will be within this range and depend on education, skills, experience, scope, location, and other factors determined through the selection process. Variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount; actual payouts depend on performance.
