Position Description

The Account Executive position will play a key role in generating new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and promoting the firm’s full suite of grant consulting services. This individual will work closely with leadership and consulting teams to identify prospective clients, conduct outreach, qualify leads, and guide organizations through the initial client consultation and onboarding process.

Essential Job Functions
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across nonprofit, education, healthcare, government, and community sectors
  • Conduct outbound prospecting through calls, emails, networking, conferences, and referral partnerships
  • This position requires regular local, regional, and national travel for client meetings, networking events, conferences, presentations, and business development activities. Occasional overnight travel will be required.
  • Build and maintain a strong potential client pipeline using CRM tools and follow‑up strategies
  • Educate prospective clients on grant consulting services, including: grant writing (pre‑award), prospect research, grants management (post‑award), government services, and training and coaching services
  • Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings with leadership
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and outreach materials tailored to client needs
  • Sourcing and responding to RFPs for grant services
  • Attend conferences, networking events, and industry functions to represent the company
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the client onboarding process
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth transition from client acquisition to service delivery
  • Assist with client onboarding and retention and contract renewals
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly client acquisition and revenue goals
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or consulting sales
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and results‑oriented
  • Professional presentation and networking skills
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management (HubSpot)
  • Experience with Contract Management Software (Cobblestone)
  • Must have dependable car for local travel
  • Proficient with multiple technology and software platforms, including Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint), virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom), and Adobe Acrobat Pro
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of grant writing, grant funding, fundraising, or public‑sector funding processes
  • Experience working with nonprofits, schools and universities, healthcare, government agencies, or consulting firms
  • Existing network within nonprofit or public‑sector organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, nonprofit management, or related field

Work Environment

Primarily desk work in an office setting with frequent use of computers, typing, reading, virtual meetings, and data analysis. This position also requires regular local, regional, and national travel for client meetings, networking events, conferences, presentations, and business development activities. Occasional overnight travel will be required. May involve in‑person or virtual collaboration with team members and internal and external stakeholders. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and dress in business attire appropriate for client‑facing interactions and industry events.

Benefits
  • Minimum of 40 hours of Paid Sick Time (PST), frontloaded and available at the beginning of each calendar year. New employees starting during the year receive pro‑rated PST hours based on their start date.
  • Up to 80 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) each calendar year, accrued at 3.33 hours per pay period, for full‑time employees.
  • 80 hours of Paid Vacation Time after one year of continuous employment, frontloaded on the work anniversary date for full‑time employees.
  • 120 hours of Paid Vacation Time, frontloaded on the work anniversary date, after your fifth year of continuous employment for full‑time employees.
  • 9+ Paid Holidays each calendar year.
  • 401(k) plan with matching up to 4% with immediate vesting. Eligible after 1 year and 1,000 hours.
  • $50,000 in Employer Paid Group Life and AD&D Insurance.
  • Employer paid Virtual: On‑Demand Counseling, Urgent Care, and Prescription Benefit through Recuro Health.
  • Group Health Insurance with multiple choices available. Employer pays a portion of premium. Open to all W2 employees who work 30+ hours per week. Option to open HSA when enrolled in compatible health plan.

Note: Performance pay will be based on the success and performance of the company as a whole. Under no circumstances will performance pay include a percentage of grant funds awarded to clients or any compensation directly tied to funds raised on a client’s behalf.
