Account Executive

Role Overview

Join Hearst Connecticut Media Group to deliver impactful media campaigns for our customers, leveraging our rich history, extensive audience reach, and cutting‑edge AI tools. As an Account Executive, you will develop and manage a sales pipeline, build new business relationships with local advertisers throughout Connecticut, and promote solutions that fit their marketing needs. You will work with internal teams to exceed customer expectations. Hearst Newspapers operates on a hybrid work week schedule.

What will you do?
  • Drive Success with Innovative Tools: Utilize AI‑powered software to enhance every stage of the sales cycle.
  • Lead Generation: Call on local small‑to‑medium businesses to showcase our digital media advertising suite (social media, display, video, programmatic, SEO/SEM, and traditional ads); generate new leads through cold calling, networking, and prospecting; own the sales cycle and receive support from the local account management team.
  • Product Expertise: Become an expert on our digital and print products; receive comprehensive training in the first three weeks and ongoing learning.
  • Execute Sales Tactics: Implement marketing strategies and deliver effective sales presentations to consistently earn, retain, and increase revenue.
  • Advertising Solutions: Create engaging advertising solutions that solve clients’ business needs.
  • Client Solutions: Recommend new products and promotional opportunities to existing clients, handle objections, and contribute to the local business community.
  • Forecasting: Manage the client pipeline and monthly revenue forecast in Salesforce.com.
