The Dallas Morning News is seeking an Account Executive to drive digital, print, and event sales across the Dallas market. You will prospect, present, propose, and close opportunities while managing post‑sale results and expanding client partnerships.
You will leverage Hearst AI tools and OpenAI collaboration to accelerate deals, learn continuously, and hit monthly revenue targets within a dynamic, collaborative team. Dallas-based, on-site role with strong earning potential.
Qualifications
- Education: BA/BS in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications a plus or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 2+ years of business‑to‑business outside sales in advertising or media, with a proven success in new business acquisition and exceeding revenue goals.
- Skills: Superior presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills. Technically savvy with experience in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Mindset: Goal‑oriented, competitive, and forward‑thinking with strong business and financial acumen.
- Existing Client Relationships: Preferably have existing client relationships in the DFW market.
Responsibilities
- Drive Success with Innovative Tools: Utilize our AI‑powered software to enhance every stage of the sales cycle, from prospecting and planning to presenting and closing deals.
- Sales Goals: Exceed sales activity, pipeline, and revenue goals on a monthly basis.
- Lead Generation: Call on small to medium businesses to show the value of our suite of advertising products. Generate new leads through cold calling, email marketing, networking, and staying aware of new business openings.
- Pipeline Management: Continually build a pipeline of new business and upsell opportunities. Consistently meet net new business meetings and team KPIs.
- Product Expertise: Become an expert on our digital and print products/services.
- Client Interaction: Conduct discovery calls and presentations with prospects and customers.
- Client Solutions: Recommend new products and promotional opportunities to current clients and handle objections efficiently.
- Forecasting: Manage client pipeline and monthly revenue forecast in Salesforce.com.
