Job description

Mythology is an independent creative agency in New York. We're a multidisciplinary team of creative instigators producing big work across branding, advertising, and retail design — helping clients like Warby Parker, Mattel, and A24 solve their existential business challenges. On the retail and experiential side, our concepts don't stay on the page: they get engineered, fabricated, permitted, and built. This role is for the person who gets them there.

THE ROLE

You’ll lead our retail and experiential accounts end to end — from concept through construction from our New York City agency. You're the connective tissue between clients, our creative teams, and the partners who build the work: fabricators, GCs, millworkers, and client AORs. A deep working command of build-out schedules, SOWs, and budgets is imperative — you'll own all three, and clients and teams alike will trust you because of it

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Own client relationships. Be the senior day-to-day contact for retail and experiential accounts — building trust with client stakeholders, anticipating needs, navigating hard conversations, and turning good projects into long-term partnerships.
  • Own scopes, schedules, and budgets. Author and manage SOWs, drive build-out schedules from design development through install and punch list, and keep budgets honest — flagging risk early and protecting both the client's budget and the work.
  • Run the build. Steer vendors, fabricators, GCs, and client AORs — sourcing the right partners, negotiating well, and orchestrating them as one team so what opens matches what we designed.
  • Lead and mentor. Work closely with the internal creative team, setting the standard for how Mythology shows up in the room and on the job site.
WHO YOU ARE
  • Someone people genuinely enjoy working with — generous, collaborative, low-ego, and the kind of person who makes both the work and the team around them better.
  • Deeply fluent in how physical projects get built; SOWs, build-out schedules, budgets, drawing sets, and the realities of fabrication and construction.
  • You might come from architecture, interior design, design/construction project management, or the account side of an experiential or retail design studio — the path matters less than the skills.
  • An experienced client lead — we care more about your judgment, taste, and track record than a specific number of years.
  • A clear, confident communicator who can present to a CMO, wrangle a fabricator, and walk a job site in the same afternoon.
  • Genuinely excited by creative work and protective of it; you know great client service is what makes brave work possible.

Based in our New York studio at 324 Lafayette Street. Tell us about an account you grew or a project you willed into existence — we love a good story, and want to hear about the work you’re most proud of.
