Job summary

St. Jude Parish in Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Accompanist to provide organ and piano accompaniment for liturgies and special events.

The Accompanist will also assist with choir rehearsals, typically preparing music for Christmas, Holy Week, and other Music Ministry events. A practicing Catholic with knowledge of the Roman Missal is preferred, and 5+ years pastoral experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

Job description

St. Jude Parish in Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Accompanist.

The Accompanist provides organ/piano accompaniment for liturgies and other special events at the parish. The Accompanist will also assist with choir/ensemble rehearsals, as requested, typically in preparation for Christmas, Holy Week, and any special events presented by the Music Ministry.

Candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church and possess a willingness to foster the Church’s mission. Candidate must possess a working knowledge of the Roman Missal/Order of the Mass and demonstrate the technical capability to accompany a choir, ensemble, or cantor, on both the organ and the piano, during the celebration of the Mass.

In addition to capability on the organ and piano, vocal proficiency is preferred, with practical experience of 5+ years in a pastoral setting also preferred.
