Responsibilities

• Provide music for all worship services (Sunday AM/PM and revivals) and accompany choirs.
• Assist in repertoire introduction, teaching, rehearsing, and maintaining a prepared catalog.
• Meet with Pastor/ Worship Committee to select suitable music and devise programs.
• Attend and participate in rehearsals with church officers and choir members.
• Call special rehearsals for events in the absence of the Minister of Music; accompany special events.
• Travel with church group for overnight trips when required; travel lodging provided.
• Assist Minister of Music and help plan yearly training events for music ministry.
• Maintain punctuality and professional appearance, report equipment issues promptly.
• Dress appropriately and present oneself professionally.
• Demonstrate ability to read music and play by ear; lead singing units and run rehearsals.
• Support quarterly performance appraisals and communicate absences with notice.

Primary Responsibilities

Musical Execution & Preparation

• Worship Services: Provide music for all worship services, including Sunday AM services, Sunday PM services, and revivals. Accompany all choirs and support church singing units.
• Repertoire Management: Assist in introducing, teaching, rehearsing, and maintaining a well-prepared repertoire of music for public presentation at all times.
• Music Selection: Meet with the Pastor and/or Worship Committee to assist in the selection of suitable music and devise appropriate musical programs for all occasions.

Leadership, Administration & Scheduling

• Rehearsals: Attend and participate in regular scheduled rehearsals with appropriate church officers (Pastor, Administrative Assistant, choir members, and other accompanists).
• Special Events: Assume the responsibility in the absence of the Minister of Music to call special rehearsals when necessary. Provide accompaniment for special events including Church Anniversaries, Cantatas (at least once a year), retreats, and funerals.
• Travel: Accompany the church family on overnight trips when required (travel and lodging will be paid as identified for the group).
• Ministry Support: Assist the Minister of Music in the execution of their respective duties when necessary. Assist in planning and facilitating a yearly training event for all persons in the church's music ministry.

Professionalism & Stewardship

• Punctuality: Arrive to work on time, consistently 15 to 30 minutes prior to the start time of services and rehearsals.
• Equipment Care: Maintain your instrument and work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Promptly report any damage or malfunction of equipment to the Minister of Music for repair or replacement.
• Personal Growth: Attend musical workshops, seminars, retreats, or training sessions for the purpose of continuous personal and professional growth.
• Presentation: Dress in appropriate attire when at work, understanding that first impressions are lasting impressions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience:

• Minimally 3 years of music experience with various genres of music.
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Employment Policies & Review Structure

• Quarterly Performance Appraisal: The Accompanist Musician will be evaluated quarterly by the Minister of Music to ensure alignment with ministry goals.
• Absences: A minimum of twenty-four-hour notice is expected for any absences, whenever possible.
