Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing in Ohio is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering professional to manage accessory component development from plan definition through first article inspection, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets.

You will coordinate with suppliers and the CBU development team to reach integration goals, create schedules, lead meetings, and help advance development processes and accessory technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the powersports or automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, engineering drawings, and technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the development of accessory components from plan definition through first article inspection to achieve defined Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets.
  • Coordinate with key suppliers and the CBU development team to achieve the desired innovation and integration level of accessory parts.
  • Create and manage schedules for internal and supplier work to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Communicate project status consistently and participate in or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure accessory parts meet design intent, vehicle fitment, packaging requirements, and quality standards.
  • Ensure installation instructions are completed on time for product release.
  • Generate ideas to improve existing processes, systems, and procedures.

Job Purpose

Manage all aspects of the development of accessory components from plan definition through first article inspection to achieve defined Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) targets. Coordinate with key suppliers and the CBU development team to achieve the desired innovation and integration level of accessory parts.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support Planning in establishing an accessory line-up to drive unit sales and maximize profit.
  • Provide ideas to support strategic plans that identify new accessories and rollout timing across models.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure accessory designs meet predetermined cost targets.
  • Coordinate with the development team to meet accessory integration and implementation targets, achieving an integrated appearance and ease of installation.
  • Create and manage schedules for internal and supplier work to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Communicate project status consistently and participate in or lead project meetings, discussions, and development events.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure accessory parts meet design intent, vehicle fitment, packaging requirements, and quality standards.
  • Partner with technical leadership to ensure accessory testing criteria are met.
  • Ensure installation instructions are completed on time for product release.
  • Generate ideas to improve existing processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Contribute to strategies that advance development processes and accessory technologies.
Qualifications, Experience, And Skills
Minimum Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience
  • 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the powersports or automotive industry.
