Job summary

Pathnostics in Lake Mary, FL is seeking an Accessioning specialist to handle specimen processing, verify samples, and enter critical patient data into the LIS. The role requires attention to detail in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will verify samples, label correctly, run reports to track quality metrics, and maintain safety standards while supporting lab operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate data entry are essential; adaptability to changing procedures is expected.

The process of Accessioning (also known as specimen processing) involves handling biological specimens according to standard procedures, entering sensitive data accurately and securely into the laboratory information system (LIS), and working with team members in a fast-paced environment to ensure specimens are correctly identified, labeled, and routed to the appropriate area of the laboratory for processing.

Candidates Must Have:

• Work availability as indicated above

Physical Demands: This position will require extensive use of a computer (mousing, keyboarding) and may involve sitting for extended periods of time.

Safety: Some risk of exposure to chemicals, biological substances, sharps and/or scientific instruments capable of causing bodily injury if used improperly. We comply with OSHA standards regarding Bloodborne pathogens, Safety Needle Act, Chemical Hygiene Plan in addition to maintaining robust safety & training programs.
