The Cincinnati Association For the Blind (CABVI) is seeking an Accessibility Coordinator to empower team members with visual impairments and other disabilities. You will blend job coaching, assistive technology support, and workplace accommodation guidance to ensure independent, long-term success.

Collaborate with leadership to integrate accessibility into tools and workflows. The role emphasizes individualized training, documentation, and advocacy, reporting to the Director of Accessibility

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with individuals who have visual impairments or other disabilities.
  • Experience with accessibility coordination, mentoring, and job coaching.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accessibility initiatives across teams and resources.
  • Provide job coaching and workplace support to team members with disabilities.
  • Develop training plans and organize opportunities to build soft skills.
  • Document progress and maintain case notes and reports.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and team reviews.

Job SummaryPlays a vital role in empowering our team members with visual impairments and other disabilities to achieve greater independence. Provides individualized training, workplace support, and advocacy to ensure that each participant can develop the skills, confidence, and strategies needed to succeed in any chosen environment. This role blends job coaching, assistive technology support, workplace accommodation guidance, and team collaboration to ensure equitable access and long‑term job success. This position reports to the Director, Accessibility Services.Duties/ResponsibilitiesAccessibility CoordinationSupports accommodation and accessibility requests as directed with relevant internal and external resources.Collaborates with teams to integrate accessibility into tools, workflows, and organizational culture.Provides guidance on creating accessible documents, presentations, and digital content.Supports staff providing service agency team members in various accessibility related areas.Worksite CoachingProvides employment support to visually impaired or disabled team members, ensuring they understand job expectations and can perform tasks efficiently and independently.Conducts job analysis and help develop training plans to ensure team members master essential skills.Collaborates with management to identify environmental or procedural barriers for team members who have visual impairments or multiple disabilities.Organizes training opportunities for team members to build soft skills.Training & SupportSupports instruction tailored to the individual abilities and goals of team members.Assesses needs and help deliver training sessions that support independence and skill progression for team members with visual impairments or other disabilities.Documentation & ReportingMaintains accurate case notes, progress reports, and service documentation.Participates in team meetings and case reviews.Engages in ongoing professional development and activities that support agency and program objectives.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Social Work, Technology, Human Resources) or equivalent experience.Experience working with individuals who have visual impairments or other disabilities with strong willingness to learn about accessibility services and best practices.Experience with accessibility coordination, mentoring, and job coaching.Required Skills/AbilitiesStrong communication skills.Ability to travel to job sites and work in varied environments.Empathetic and client‑centered, with a genuine passion for empowering others.Flexible and creative in adapting tasks and environments.Commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and equal opportunity for people with disabilities.Motivated by seeing clients grow, succeed, and thrive.CABVI is an EEO M/F/Disabled/Veteran employer.
