Job summary

WebstaurantStore, the leading online restaurant supply company, seeks an Accessibility Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to join our Accessibility engineering team. You’ll contribute to our customer-facing e-commerce site, learning from seasoned developers who value craftsmanship and collaboration.

As a remote intern, you’ll receive training, mentorship, and opportunities to network virtually and in-person with teammates nationwide.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (CS, Web Development or related field preferred).
• Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Some exposure to digital Accessibility practices (testing, assistive technologies) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform accessibility audits and reviews of the e-commerce site alongside other Accessibility Engineers.
• Gain hands-on exposure to assistive technologies (VoiceOver, NVDA, keyboard navigation, Zoom) and testing best practices.
• Work with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS in production codebase to resolve accessibility issues.
• Contribute to the Accessibility Wiki by creating documentation and sharing resources with engineers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product designers and developers to learn how features become accessible shipped products.
• Maintain shared team tools, documentation and workflows with mentor guidance.
• Pair with teammates to tackle audits and accessibility issues and progress toward owning projects.
• Complete special projects and present your work at program end.
