Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF GREATER NEW YORK & NORTHERN NEW JERSEY INC. is seeking an Access NJ/NYSID Janitorial position in New Jersey.

The role focuses on cleaning restrooms, dusting, scrubbing floors, and maintaining cleanliness in facilities. The successful candidate will have 2–3 years of janitorial experience, the ability to read and understand simple instructions, and the physical capability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of Janitorial experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to lift at least 30lbs

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and refill restroom dispensers.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools: buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums; brooms, mops and squeegees for cleaning and maintenance.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies; use as directed.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis

Position Type: FLSA - Non-Exempt

The Awesome Things You’ll Do

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
• Clean, Dust, and wipe furniture: Sweep, Mop or vacuum floors: empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers: empty and clean all ash trays and refill restroom dispensers.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools: buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and buffers and vacuums, brooms mops and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls , carpets, furniture, etc.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. USE AS DIRECTED.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis

Activities are subject to change / be added to meet business needs with management approval.
