Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF GREATER NEW YORK & NORTHERN NEW JERSEY INC. is seeking a part-time janitorial staff member to perform cleaning and sanitation tasks across facilities in New Jersey. The role requires physical ability to lift and move materials and to operate standard cleaning equipment.

This position is non-benefitted and exempt from the full-time benefits package. Responsibilities include restroom sanitation, floor care, furniture cleaning, and adherence to chemical handling guidelines.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of janitorial experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ashtrays and refill restroom dispensers.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools: buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops and squeegees.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies; use as directed.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools as needed.

Position Title: Access NJ/NYSID Janitorial

Location: New Jersey

Benefit Classification: Part-Time Non-Benefitted

Position Type: FLSA - Non-Exempt

The Awesome Things You’ll Do

• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures
• Clean, Dust, and wipe furniture: Sweep, Mop or vacuum floors: empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers: empty and clean all ash trays and refill restroom dispensers.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools: buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and buffers and vacuums, brooms mops and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls , carpets, furniture, etc.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. USE AS DIRECTED.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis

Activities are subject to change / be added to meet business needs with management approval.
