Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is seeking an Access Control Officer to support a government customer in Odenton, MD. You will manage access control for secure facilities, verify badges, and ensure proper clearance levels using DISS/Scattered Castles and Lenel CMS.

This role requires active TS/SCI clearance, US citizenship, CPR/AED certification, and the ability to stand or walk for long periods. Competitive benefits and 401(k) with company match are offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience utilizing security systems such as DISS or Scattered Castles.
• Must be CPR and AED certified.
• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to understand and apply printed rules, detailed orders/instructions and training materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide access control services for government facility locations identified within the IDIQ and task orders.
• Control access of personnel, equipment, and media going into and out of secure facilities.
• Verify badges and entry/exit authorization for visitors and equipment.
• Issue ESCORT REQUIRED badges to all un-cleared personnel including visitors and workers.
• Verify security clearances and SCI access levels in DISS or Scattered Castles and issue appropriate visitor badges.
• Conduct random entry/exit inspections per local SOP and EEIP.
• Maintain journals, logs, and inventory of government equipment; document reviews for COR.
• Utilize CMS (Lenel) for 100% access verification of cleared and uncleared individuals.
• Maintain shift logs and sign-in sheets; report incidents to supervisors.
• Provide immediate notification of life-threatening situations to authorities.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job description

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC has a potential need for an Access Control Officer to provide support for our government customer in Odenton, MD.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Access Control Officers shall provide access control services for government facility locations, identified within the IDIQ and respective task orders.
• Access Control Officers shall control access of personnel, equipment, and media going into and out of the INSCOM and/or MSC secure facilities.
• Access Control Officers shall visually determine, through face to face ID checks, that personnel accessing the SCIF have the specific badge required for facility access, and that personnel bringing in or exiting the facility with equipment and media have the Government-issued and approved equipment and media entry/exit authorization forms.
• Access Control Officers shall issue ESCORT REQUIRED badges to all un-cleared personnel to include official visitors, unofficial visitors, foreign visitors, custodial, maintenance and repair services providers and construction workers.
• Access Control Officers shall ensure security clearance and SCI access levels of all visitors requesting access to the SCIF are verified in Defense Information System for Security (DISS) or Scattered Castles and cleared visitors, both government and contractors are issued the appropriate visitor badge per the approved Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and notify sponsors of visitor arrival.
• Access Control Officers shall conduct random entry/exit inspections in accordance with the local Entry/Exit Inspection Program (EEIP).
• Access Control Officers shall inspect and ensure personnel bringing in approved equipment and media have the appropriate Government issued and approved and valid equipment/media entry/exit authorization form. And shall capture all entry-exit form reviews in a summary format within their journals for COR review.
• Access Control Officers shall utilize Central Monitoring Stations (CMS) to include Lenel, and which are used to process 100% access verification and validation for all cleared and un-cleared individuals utilizing Government facilities.
• Access Control Officers shall maintain a shift log in accordance with Post and INSCOM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The log shall provide journal entries continually throughout the shift and closed out at the end of each shift. This documentation includes, but is not limited to, maintaining a journal of results of entry-exit checks, and any incidents occurring by shift. Significant occurrences, as defined in the Post SOP, will be briefed to on-coming access control personnel at each shift change over.
• Access Control Officers shall maintain sign-in sheets for cleared and un-cleared visitors for the facility. Additionally, Access Control Officers shall conduct an equipment and log inventory of government furnished equipment within 15 minutes of each shift change and maintain a log of accountability.
• Access Control Officers shall provide immediate notification of any and all attempts to gain forceful entry, hostage conditions, fire, medical emergency and any other life-threatening situations (i.e. bomb threats) to DA police, (local police as a secondary measure) and or any other applicable emergency team i.e. (fire and rescue).
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High School Dipolma or equivalent

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2 years of experience utilizing security systems such as DISS or Scattered Castles.
• Must be CPR and AED certified.
• Must be able to perform prolonged walking, standing, sitting and stooping for up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
• Must be able to understand and apply printed rules, detailed orders/instructions and training materials.
