Job summary

Next Level Technician seeks an Access Control and CCTV Technician for Burlington, VT. Earn $30-$40+/hr, with weekly pay, benefits, and steady work on security systems nationwide. The candidate should have 3–5 years of commercial security experience, Licenses preferred, and be able to mentor junior techs. Travel within Vermont and surrounding areas is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of commercial experience servicing and troubleshooting security systems.
• Licenses: Access Control license and Fire Alarm/TQP license preferred.
• Ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.
• Advanced security certifications such as CPP or PSP are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and service for security systems, including integrated and high-security systems.
• Lead service calls involving complex security system issues and provide expert solutions.
• Troubleshoot, service, and maintain access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and other security components.
• Perform system upgrades and enhancements based on client needs and technology.
• Read and interpret security drawings and technical documentation.
• Maintain detailed records of service activities and client interactions.
• Mentor and assist less experienced technicians with troubleshooting and service tasks.
• Work safely on ladders and aerial lifts; follow safety regulations and policies.
• Travel to customer job sites throughout Vermont and surrounding areas as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and service for security systems, including integrated and high-security systems
• Lead service calls involving complex security system issues and provide expert solutions
• Troubleshoot, service, and maintain access control, CCTV, fire alarm, and other security system components
• Perform system upgrades, modifications, and enhancements based on client needs and technology advancements
• Read and interpret security system drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Maintain detailed records of service activities, system changes, repairs, and client interactions
• Mentor and assist less experienced technicians with troubleshooting and service tasks
• Work safely on ladders and aerial lifts while performing elevated and overhead work
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
• Travel to customer job sites throughout Vermont and surrounding areas as needed

Requirements

• 3-5 years of commercial experience servicing and troubleshooting security systems
• Strong technical knowledge of security system components, integrations, and system architecture
• Access Control license and Fire Alarm/TQP license preferred
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced or complex system issues
• Proven problem-solving skills and strong customer service abilities
• Ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in electronics or a related field preferred
• Advanced security certifications such as CPP or PSP are a plus
• Experience with high-security or large-scale integrated security systems is highly preferred
• Basic hand tools and PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hi-vis vest, steel-toe boots)
• Must be comfortable working at heights on ladders and aerial lifts
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Willingness to travel throughout Vermont and surrounding areas
• Must have a current, valid driver's license and the ability to meet applicable company driving standards
