Job summary

Chenega Professional Services Strategic Business Unit is seeking an Access Control Specialist to manage entry to designated facilities and restricted areas. You will verify credentials, process visitors, and monitor security to maintain a professional and welcoming environment.

The role involves interacting with employees, contractors, and government personnel, conducting inspections, and reporting incidents. TS clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in access control, security, military, law enforcement support, customer service, or related fields preferred.
• Experience in government, military, industrial, or secure environments preferred.
• Prior public-facing customer service experience is highly desirable.
• Must maintain composure and sound judgment in stressful situations.
• Must obtain and maintain TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Control access to facilities and restricted areas by verifying credentials and identification.
• Process employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and guests per access procedures.
• Monitor entry/exit points to ensure site security.
• Conduct security inspections and report hazards or incidents.
• Maintain awareness of security conditions and report incidents or emergencies.
• Greet and assist employees, visitors, contractors, and VIPs professionally.
• Provide directions and information on access procedures.
• Support visitor escort and access procedures as required.
• Communicate clearly with personnel at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Access Control Specialistis responsible forcontrolling access to designated facilities, property, and restricted areas through the verification of credentials, visitor processing, screening procedures, and security monitoring activities. This position serves as the first point of contact for employees, visitors, contractors, and government personnel and plays a critical role inmaintaininga secure, professional, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Control access to facilities, restricted areas, and government property by verifying credentials, authorization documents, badges, visitor passes, and identification.
• Processemployees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and authorized guestsin accordance withestablished access control procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points to ensure compliance with site security requirements.
• Conduct interior and exterior security inspections and report security concerns, safety hazards, suspicious activities, or procedural violations.
• Verify access authorizations and resolve routine access issues through established procedures and supervisory guidance.
• Maintain awareness of security conditions and promptly report incidents, emergencies, or unusual activities.
• Professionally greet and assistemployees, visitors, contractors, government personnel, and VIP guests.
• Provide directions, guidance, and informationregardingfacility access procedures.
• Maintain a courteous, professional, and service-oriented approach during all interactions.
• Support visitor escort and access procedures asrequired.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GEDrequired.
• Previousaccess control, security, military, law enforcement support, customer service, or related experience preferred.
• Experience working in a government, military, industrial, orsecuredenvironment preferred.
• Prior experience interacting with the public and providing customer service is highly desirable.
• Must be capable of exercising sound judgment andmaintainingcomposure in stressful situations.
• Obtain andmaintaina TS clearance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of access control procedures, visitor management practices, and facility security principles.
• Knowledge of customer service practices and professional public interaction techniques.
• Ability to quicklyidentifyand report security concerns, policy violations, and unusual activities.
• Ability to interpret and apply written instructions, post orders, policies, and operating procedures.
• Ability to maintainconfidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
• Ability to remain professional and effective in stressful, fast-paced, or high-visibility situations.
• Strong observational, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
