Access Associate Senior

Make a meaningful impact on the front line of patient access and experience. As an Access Associate Senior at UVA Health you play a critical role in ensuring patients receive seamless, compassionate entry into care across our high‑performing academic medical system. The position may be hybrid after 6 months.

Pay

Starting base rate $19.50/hr. Pay ranges up to $30.14/hr based on experience and qualifications. Includes a $3,500 sign‑on bonus with a 2‑year commitment.

Role

In this high‑impact position you will serve as a trusted access expert across multiple clinical settings, supporting patient intake, registration, scheduling, and financial clearance functions. You will adapt quickly, maintain accuracy, and provide outstanding service to directly influence patient experience and operational efficiency.

• Perform patient registration, insurance verification, and demographic updates with high accuracy
• Coordinate and manage appointment scheduling across specialty and primary care services
• Communicate directly with patients and families, providing clear guidance on processes, expectations, and next steps
• Collaborate with clinical teams, providers, and access staff to resolve complex scheduling or registration challenges
• Maintain composure in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment while prioritizing patient care and compliance standards

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 2 years relevant experience required, or an access associate fully cross‑trained to cover multiple specialties will be considered.
• Licensure: None required.
• Physical Demands: Job requires prolonged sitting; repetitive motion (computer and mouse use). Must have adequate auditory, visual, and communicative skills, attention to detail, and legible writing.
