Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is recruiting for an Access Permit Specialist in the R-3 region to support the administration of the Colorado Access Management program. The Access Permit Unit in Traffic and Safety exists to preserve and improve the functional integrity of the highway system, to protect the public health, safety and welfare. This is accomplished by maintaining smooth traffic flow, issuance of all necessary permits, region‑wide planning, administration, management, monitoring and enforcement of federal guidelines, state statutes, and state rules and regulations.
This position will Assist in administering the Colorado Department of Transportation's access management program in R‑3 in accordance with section 43‑2‑147 of the Colorado Revised Statutes and the State highway Access Code (SHAC). This position assists in reviewing requests for access and analyzes proposals for conformance with regulations and standards using sound engineering, safety, and planning principles. This position also reviews access permit applications, writes permits, and assists the Outdoor Advertising Manager with the Roadside Advertising program as it applies to the CO Advertising Act and Federal Regulations.
