Job description

You’ve Never Been Satisfied with “Good Enough.”

You didn’t get into this to manage one piece of a project. You got into it to change how the world gets built.

At Accenture Construct, that’s the job. You’ll help deliver the data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories and public infrastructure that keep communities moving — smarter, safer and more sustainably.

You’ll work alongside people who think big and act bold: project managers, engineers, technologists and strategists who pair real-world delivery with AI. And you won’t be handed a slice of it. We take on whole programs, from early strategy through construction and handover, and we stand behind how they land.

Because “good enough” builds the past. You’re here to build what’s next.

THE WORK:
  • You’ll develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and estimate-at-completion projections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • You’ll monitor project expenditures and analyze budget performance against approved funding.
  • You’ll prepare routine cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and executive project financial summaries.
  • You’ll support project managers with cost forecasting, contingency management, and financial decision-making.
  • You’ll evaluate project trends, change orders, and potential cost impacts to identify risks and opportunities.
  • You’ll assist in the preparation and review of project authorization packages, budget revisions, and funding requests.
  • You’ll support project controls activities by integrating cost and schedule information to improve forecasting accuracy.
  • You’ll maintain project cost documentation and ensure compliance with client financial controls and governance requirements.
  • You’ll participate in project meetings and communicate cost performance, financial risks, and recommended corrective actions.
  • You’ll promote continuous improvement of cost management processes, reporting, and project controls practices.

Onsite at client site : The work location for this role is onsite with our clients and partners to enable delivery and cultivate our client relationships.

With all our roles, there is some in‑person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business‑related field or six (6) years of equivalent related work experience, in addition to the minimum experience requirement, may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum 7‑10 years of professional experience in project cost analysis, project controls, or capital project financial management supporting utility or large infrastructure capital projects
  • Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost reporting, change management, and estimate‑at‑completion methodologies
  • Experience interpreting project financial information and communicating cost performance to project leadership
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience supporting electric transmission and substation capital programs with an EPC firm
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, Power BI, Primavera P6, Cognos, or similar enterprise project controls systems
  • Understanding of earned value management principles and integrated cost and schedule reporting
  • Familiarity with utility capital governance processes and financial controls
  • Professional certifications such as AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP), AACE Certified Cost Technician (CCT), or other relevant project controls certifications are preferred

$147,000 - $189,000 a year

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia or Washington as set forth below.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
  • The biggest builds going. Hyperscale data centers, grid and generation, transit and rail, chip fabs, mines, water. If it’s complex and it matters, it’s on our list.
  • You own the outcome. Not a workstream. Not a deliverable. Whether the program lands.
  • AI that shows up on site. Program control that predicts instead of records. You’ll use it, and you’ll help shape it.
  • Scale without the distance. More than 5,000 practitioners across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, on a team small enough that people know your name.
  • Serious investment in you. Leadership development, technical upskilling and certification support.
  • Work that outlasts you. People will use what you build for forty years without knowing your name. That’s the point.
  • Recognition that means something in this industry. Accenture Construct is ranked #6 globally in ENR’s 2026 Top 50 Program Management Firms and #4 in Building Design + Construction’s Top 80 Construction Management Firms for 2026.
ABOUT ACCENTURE CONSTRUCT
  • Accenture Construct is Accenture’s global capital projects business.
  • The data centers behind AI. The grid behind the energy transition. The rail, water and airports everything else runs on.
  • We plan them, engineer them, deliver them and hand them over — and unlike most of this market, we’re on the hook for whether they land on time. More than 5,000 practitioners across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. One team that owns the whole thing.
