General Definition of Work

The Accelerate Program Facilitator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating district initiatives. This role supports district staff by providing guidance and resources related to program planning, student services, and program effectiveness, ensuring that initiatives are well-managed and aligned with district goals.

Salary/Status

Support 5; 185 workdays/ 7 hours

Place of Work

The normal place of work is on the premises used by Rock Hill Schools. Rock Hill Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time.

Essential Functions

  • Become familiar with programming technology and materials prior to the start of each semester.
  • Conduct inventory at the beginning and end of each semester, documenting materials loaned to and returned by students for home use.
  • Monitor students’ academic progress and social interactions; maintain a classroom environment that promotes growth; notify appropriate school or program personnel as needed; and secure all test documents.
  • Inform the instructor of any concerns, especially changes to the school calendar or schedule and issues related to student well-being.
  • Participate in CANVAS training provided by the SC GSSM Accelerate program.
  • Access CANVAS at the beginning and end of each school day.
  • Respond to questions or concerns from teachers, administrators, students, and parents within 24 hours when possible; if an immediate answer is not available, acknowledge receipt and provide a status update.
  • Check CANVAS daily for documents and assignments that need to be printed; if absent, email this information to the site administrator responsible for Accelerate.
  • Scan and email completed assignments to the instructor within one full school day when possible.
  • Communicate regularly with the instructor regarding student academic or social/emotional concerns and encourage students to seek course-related support directly from the instructor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Prior to employment, paraprofessionals requirements must be met with the requirements listed below. (Paraprofessional documentsmust be submitted withthe application)

  • Minimum employment requirements; at least 60 earned semester hours at an accredited institution of higher education; or an associate's degree (or higher); bachelors degree preferred; or a South Carolina approved state or local academic assessment that measures the paraprofessional's knowledge of and ability to assist in instruction at the appropriate level.
  • Paraprofessionals may meet the assessment requirement by passing the Paraprofessional Assessment (5758 Reading and Writing) and (5759 Mathematics) (ETS.org). The minimum passing score for (5758 Reading and Writing) is 332 and (5759 Mathematics) is 334.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible clerical or administrative support experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general office equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.

Special Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Traveling to school district buildings and professional meetings may be required.

  • Work is typically performed in a standard office or school environment.
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, filing, and operating office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, or move materials and supplies up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual acuity required for reading documents, data entry, and computer work.
  • Hearing and speaking abilities are sufficient for clear communication in person, virtually, and over the phone.
  • May require occasional bending, reaching, or stooping to retrieve or file materials.
  • Regular interaction with staff, administrators, and the public in a busy office setting.
  • May be required to travel between district sites or attend meetings as needed.
  • Work schedule may include occasional extended hours or adjusted shifts to meet department needs.
