Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in athletic training from a CAATE recognized school required.
  • NATABOC Certification required.
  • Active Ohio Athletic Trainer Licensure required or the ability to obtain quickly.
  • Current Professional CPR Certification.
  • Must pass a background check to work with minors.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate Academy players under supervision.
  • Communicate with medical staff, coaches, and athletes.
  • Refer athletes to team physicians when necessary.
  • Support practice and game coverage including travel.

Job description

Reports to: Director of Performance Services

Job Summary

FC Cincinnati is searching for an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Academy Athletic Trainer. The Developmental Academy Athletic Trainer will be responsible for, but not limited to implementing the sports medicine program and coordinating medical care for the development academy.The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detailed- oriented, professional, possess strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is employed by FC Cincinnati and reports to the Director of Performance Services.

What You’ll Do
  • Evaluation, treatment, and rehab of Academy players under the supervision of team Chief Medical Officer and Director of Performance Services.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff, coaches, family members, and athletes.
  • Refer athletes to team physicians or other health care providers when necessary.
  • Support with practice and game coverage including travel (could include travel outside of the United States).
  • Assist the Performance Department in planning, delivering, and evaluating physical development sessions.
  • Maintain computerized injury and treatment logs.
  • Preparation of field and team for practices and games, including but not limited to preparing coolers/ice chest, placement of emergency equipment and medical preparations.
  • Keep athletic training room clean, organized, and safe.
  • Preceptor responsibilities with local athletic training residents and students.
  • Comply with all company and league medical policies and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters Degree in athletic training from CAATE recognized school required.
  • NATABOC Certification required.
  • Active Ohio Athletic Trainer Licensure required or the ability to obtain quickly.
  • Current Professional CPR Certification.
  • Must pass a background check to work with minors. Must undergo mandatory Safe Sport online training.
