Beyond Housing is launching the Academy to help families achieve economic mobility through an integrated six-stage program. Academy Advisors guide families, build strong relationships, and coordinate resources to foster progress and sound decision-making.
Advisors provide budgeting education, assist with enrollment, and track progress while coordinating with staff and partners to address barriers and sustain engagement.
Beyond Housing is a nationally recognized community development organization dedicated to strengthening families and transforming our under-resourced communities to create a stronger, more prosperous St. Louis, once and for all.
The Beyond Housing Academy is a newly launched multi-year economic mobility initiative for families who are ready to build a stronger future. Instead of addressing housing, employment, finances, health, and family needs though separate programs, the Academy brings them together into one coordinated journey building around each family’s goals.
Families progress through six stages, beginning with stability, then strengthening finances, growing career and educational opportunities, supporting family well-being, building wealth, and ultimately creating a legacy for the next generation. Each family receives individualized coaching, an Academy Progress Plan, and connections that give families more choices for their future.
Academy Advisors serve as each family’s primary guide through the Beyond Housing Academy.
Every family follows the same six-stage curriculum, but families may move at different speeds and need different levels of coaching and support. Academy Advisors build trusted relationships, help families understand and apply what they are learning, identify barriers, coordinate resources, track progress, and maintain clear expectations.
This is not a traditional case-management or referral position. Academy Advisors must be strong critical thinkers who can understand a family’s full situation, help families make sound decisions, and identify the best path forward.
Benefits for full-time position as determined in the current Beyond Housing Employee Handbook.
Success means families know their Advisor, understand where they are in the Academy, remain engaged, receive coordinated support, apply what they learn, address barriers, and make measurable progress through the Academy’s stages.
Academy Advisors do not do everything for families. They help families build the knowledge, skills, habits, relationships, and confidence to move forward with increasing independence.
