Job summary

City Year is seeking a full-time Academic Tutor and Mentor to serve in public schools and support students' academic and social-emotional growth. On an AmeriCorps team, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring, assist teachers, track progress, and lead enrichment and after-school activities.

You will build strong relationships, serve as a positive role model, and contribute to an inclusive, engaging learning environment while receiving ongoing training and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students in academic settings.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects.
• Assist teachers in classrooms and support classroom routines.
• Track student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Lead enrichment and after-school activities to support SEL and student engagement.
