Job summary

The Department of Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (commensurate with experience) with expertise in Surgical Pathology.

Responsibilities include day-to-day sign-out of cases in academic surgical pathology subspecialty services, participation in tumor boards and conferences with clinical colleagues, teaching residents and students, and active participation in clinical research and professional activities.

Qualifications

• MD/MD-PhD or equivalent degree.
• Board eligibility or Board certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology.

Responsibilities

• Clinical: Day-to-day sign-out of cases in academic surgical pathology subspecialty services.
• Service: Participation in tumor boards and conferences with clinical colleagues; participation in committees as needed.
• Teaching: Education of residents, medical and graduate students, and allied health staff; development of workshops at local, state, and national levels.
• Research: Scholarship in Pathology through presentations, clinical collaborations, and peer-reviewed publications; active participation in professional organizations.
