Job summary

Houston Methodist Department of Neurosurgery invites applications for four full-time academic spine neurosurgery faculty positions. Two roles will be at Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, and two at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, a rapidly expanding quaternary care campus.

Recruited faculty will have access to the MITIE center for simulation, research collaboration, course development, and professional education, supporting surgeon-scientists and clinician-educators

Qualifications

• MD degree and completion of an ACGME-accredited neurosurgery residency.
• Board certified or board eligible in Neurological Surgery.
• Completion of advanced spine training.
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Texas medical license.
• Eligible for hospital medical staff appointment and clinical privileges.
• Commitment to academic medicine, education, research, and/or clinical innovation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Join four full-time academic spine neurosurgery faculty positions.
• Split appointments between Houston Methodist Hospital and Cypress Hospital.
• Leverage MITIE for education, research, and innovation.
• Contribute to clinical care, education, and scholarly activities.
